The Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) is Canada’s largest mental health and addiction teaching hospital and a world-leader in research. The centre is located in Toronto, where many mental health and wellness resources are available from countless organizations. However, the daunting task of sourcing these services is often prohibitive, especially for university students who tend to be highly stressed and less familiar with the city.

As part of an ongoing digital innovation project, CAMH decided to expand their online Thought Spot map — a crowd-sourced directory of resources for students by students. The goal was to make the existing web-based platform responsive and mobile-friendly, as well as to build an app for iOS and Android. But with a tight timeline and a discerning, tech savvy audience, CAMH needed a tech partner who could guide the scope of the project.
